How to find your council bin collection day in Australia
Collection days are set by your local council, not by any national schedule, so the surest way to find yours is to go straight to the source. It usually takes a minute or two and only needs your address.
Start with your council's lookup tool
Almost every Australian council offers an address-based collection lookup. Search for your council name followed by "bin collection day" and you will usually land on a page where you enter your address and see your bin calendar, including which weeks are recycling and which are green waste.

If you are not sure which council you belong to, the Australian Bureau of Statistics geography standard and a quick address search will point you to the right local government area.
Note your day, then set it and forget it
Once you know your collection day and whether recycling and green waste alternate, you have everything you need. Enter it once into Your Bin Reminder and let the evening-before email do the remembering from there.
