Your Bin Reminder (yourbinreminder.com) is a free service operated in Australia. The service is not affiliated with any local council, state government, or government body. It is powered by WITWEB SOLUTIONS.

We collect only what is strictly necessary to provide the reminder service:

• Email address — used only to send your weekly bin night reminder.
• Bin type preferences — which bins you put out (general waste, recycling, green waste).
• Bin collection day — the day of the week your council collects.
• Suburb — optional, helps us improve local council data in future.

We do not collect your full name, home address, phone number, payment details, date of birth, or any sensitive information as defined under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) s 6.

Information is collected directly from you when you:

• Create an account via Clerk (our authentication provider)
• Complete the reminder setup form

We do not collect information from third parties, data brokers, or public sources.

Your information is used solely to:

• Send you a weekly reminder email at 8:00pm the evening before your bin collection day.
• Allow you to manage, edit, pause, or delete your reminder at any time via the dashboard.
• Maintain operational logs of sent reminders (retained for up to 90 days).

We will never use your email address for marketing, newsletters, promotions, or any purpose unrelated to the bin reminder service without your explicit consent. This complies with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Your data is shared only with the following service providers who process it on our behalf under strict confidentiality obligations:

• Clerk — authentication and account management (USA; SOC 2 certified).
• Supabase — database storage (AWS ap-southeast-2, Sydney).
• Resend — transactional email delivery (USA).
• Vercel — application hosting (USA/global edge).

Where personal information is transferred outside Australia (e.g., to Clerk or Vercel in the USA), we take reasonable steps to ensure it is protected to a standard comparable to the APPs, consistent with APP 8 of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Your data is stored in Supabase's managed PostgreSQL database hosted on AWS in Sydney (ap-southeast-2), with encryption at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.2+). Database access is restricted to authorised server-side processes only. Passwords are managed entirely by Clerk and are never stored by us.

While we implement reasonable technical and organisational security measures in line with the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic), no internet transmission is completely secure. We will notify affected users of any eligible data breach in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under Part IIIC of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

Your personal information is retained for as long as you maintain an active reminder. When you delete a reminder or close your account:

• Reminder records are marked inactive immediately and permanently deleted within 30 days.
• Reminder send logs are retained for up to 90 days for operational purposes, then automatically deleted.
• Account data held by Clerk is deleted when you delete your account through the Clerk dashboard.

Under the Australian Privacy Principles and applicable Victorian law, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated information.
• Delete your data at any time via the dashboard or by contacting us.
• Unsubscribe instantly using the link in any reminder email.
• Withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.
• Complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au, or to the Office of the Victorian Information Commissioner (OVIC) at ovic.vic.gov.au.
